Rebecca / Sales Manager, Owner
Rebecca grew up on Vancouver Island and spent 10 years working with Blue Flame's previous owner before taking over the business alongside her husband, Phil. She lives in Nanaimo with Phil and their two dogs and cat, and is an active member of BNI Nanaimo.
Rebecca's favorite part of the job is seeing the difference a job well done makes for a family — knowing they'll be warm and comfortable because of the work our team does. In her free time, she enjoys reading, crafts, and puzzles.
Phil / Journeyman Gas Fitter & Plumber, Hvac, Owner
Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Phil has deep roots in the trade — he started working with Blue Flame's previous owner back in high school and now brings over 20 years of industry experience to the team. Today, he owns Blue Flame alongside his wife, Rebecca, and the two live in Nanaimo with their two dogs and a cat.
In his free time, Phil enjoys listening to music
and staying active in the gym. Phil takes pride in doing the job right the first time — a mindset he's carried since his early days in the trade, and one he now passes on to his team.
Max / Journeyman Gas Fitter, Hvac
Max has been part of the Blue Flame team since 2019, bringing years of hands-on experience to every job. He lives in Nanaimo with his wife and young son.
When he's off the clock, Max is usually cheering on the Blue Jays, catching a good movie, or spending time with his son. What he loves most about the job? Cracking the puzzle of a tricky repair and leaving customers with peace of mind
Harman/ Journeyman Gas Fitter & Plumber, Hvac
Harman moved to Canada from India in 2010 and now lives in Nanaimo with his wife and two young children. He's a licensed journeyman gas fitter and plumber, bringing hands-on industry experience since 2017.
What Harman loves most about his job is the variety — no two days look the same — along with the chance to meet new people along the way. Outside of work, he's a big football fan — or as we call it here, soccer! His favorite team is Chelsea
Josh / Hvac Apprentice
Josh lives in Nanaimo with his fiancé, two dogs he proudly calls his sons, and a flock of chickens. He's been in the industry for 4 years and is looking forward to completing his HVAC ticket.
Outside of work, Josh loves working with his hands — he's built several chicken coops and pieces of furniture for his home. On the job, what he enjoys most is the methodology behind the work.
Kelly / Receptionist, Accounts Receivable
Kelly has called Nanaimo home since she moved here from Montreal at age 10, and she's been the welcoming face of Blue Flame since 2021. As our receptionist, she's often the first person you'll meet — and she makes sure every visit starts with a smile.
When she's not at the front desk, you can find Kelly relaxing at the beach or spending time with her grandchildren.
Ask Kelly what she loves most about her job, and she'll tell you it's her coworkers — and getting to help keep people warm. As someone who's always cold herself, she says working in a fireplace showroom is basically the perfect fit!
